4worldlovers: This was a wonderful location choice to celebrate my son’s second birthday! The very large heated jacuzzi/pool was perfect for us. We spent time in it every day. The accommodations were excellent, as well as the food at the Niche Restaurant within the Hotel. We will be returning soon.

Beautiful hotel and the restaurant Niche is FABULOUS!!! OMG!!! Stayed overnight on our way to a cruise. Would definitely stay there again. You should make a point to visit the restaurant no matter where you stay.

This hotel is wonderful. If you are looking to get away from the large hotels with extra amenities that you DON’T even use, this is the place to go. I was so relaxed and at peace in this place I didn’t want to leave. The staff was so friendly and informative, I couldn’t have asked for more!

Friendly atmosphere and excellent service. Housekeeping was awesome, whatever you need it was done for you. Staff members really are there to make you stay at Puerto Rico pleasant. I go back there for my next visit.

4worldlovers: The location is in the heart of all the action, yet I could not hear it from my cozy room. The AC was cold and the service was great. I would recommend this place to people vacationing in San Juan as it is half a block from the beach and down the street from all the hot spots.

My friend and I were looking for an affordable, safe way to stay in San Juan for a week, so we stayed at El Canario based on a recommendation from her family friend. So glad we did! All in all, a great way to stay in San Juan for those of you looking for a basic room in a charming inn.

This small inn took me for a wonderful surprise. My initial impression of the ‘too small’ room was quickly dispelled by the friendly staff, attentive service, great location, and overall ambiance. This little gem has been here for many years, tucked in among the glitzy mega-hotels.

We came here after learning (with about 12 hours notice) that our cruise was canceled. We had been staying for a couple of days at an Airbnb but they had other guests already booked. We can’t say enough about the friendliness and kindness of the front desk staff. They saw our disappointment in our cruise being canceled, and while on the phone trying to change our flights they brought us complimentary drinks. They allowed us to check in at any time the next day. We walked over before the normal check in, gave us beach towels and chairs, welcome drinks, and we enjoyed the beach until our room was ready. Roma, Gabriel, (and I wish I could remember the name of the 3rd person) that really went out of their way to accommodate us and were just such a pleasure to work with.

“My fiancé and I booked a last minute stay at the Trópica Beach Hotel in early March. Neither of us were familiar with the property, but excellent online reviews and reasonable rates drew our attention. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided individualized attention and excellent service. Minutes away from the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, this boutique hotel provided us with a modestly sized but beautiful and modern room. The room had a very comfortable bed, desk, tv and a large balcony overlooking their beautiful and nature-covered courtyard. The on-site restaurant, Dulce Salado, served great food, and has an attached gourmet coffee shop with excellent lattes and pastries. Trópica also provides complimentary coffee and tea at all hours of the day. The beach is a quick one block walk away, and the hotel provides complimentary beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas. Old San Juan is an easy Uber ride away for more dining options, nightlife and historic sites. We’ll definitely be back to this hidden gem!”

The hotel experience at Tropica Beach Hotel was amazing! The rooms were very nice, clean, and spacious. The food and drinks were great, and the individuals who work at the hotel truly have wonderful customer service skills. Angel, in particular, deserves some extra acknowledgment for going above and beyond! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Cannot say enough great things about this place. The room was perfect, the burger at the onsite restaurant was one of the best I’ve ever had, and most importantly- the staff! Roma was beyond amazing. She was so accommodating, warm and friendly. I cannot remember the other 2 guy front desk attendants’ name, but they were fabulous too. They provided the best recommendations for food, nightlife, etc. Always had a smile on their face, even when dealing with obnoxious patrons. I would definitely stay here again. Only con is the pool. It is extremely small. Probably should make it a jacuzzi since it can seat 5-6 people comfortably.
